The mission of the Fayette Community Foundatoin is to serve the local community by providing a means to receive and distribute charitable funds based on the wishes of the donor and on the changing needs of the community.
1. The people whose donations sustain and support the charities of our community. People who want to give intelligently; maximizing the efficiency, power and longevity of their assets.
2. The charities that provide educational, charitable or scientific programs and services for the Fayette County community including arts, culture, social welfare, health, conservation and scholarship.
3. The community as a whole by providing a bridge between resources and the changing needs of the community.
Why give to a Foundation?
The Fayette Community Foundation was founded in 2001 with the goal of becoming this area’s premier resource for philanthropists, non-profit organizations, and community leaders. A community foundation provides donors with flexible, efficient and tax-effective ways to ensure their charitable giving achieves the greatest possible impact. It does this by building, over time, substantial endowment funds. Endowment funds are never spent. Instead, they are permanently invested to produce income. The income or earnings are spent to meet the donors’ charitable intentions and the communities’ needs. Gifts to a community foundation continue to benefit a community forever. This is philanthropy in its broadest and smartest form.
What are my donor options?
There are numerous options for giving within the Foundation. Unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation’s Board of Directors the greatest flexibility and discretion in directing resources. Designated gifts for specific purposes reflect a particular philanthropic interest and can restrict usage narrowly. The donor can select an existing fund that matches his or her goals or create a new fund to reflect their personal interest. The Foundation offers flexibility matched with efficiency.

Who are the Directors?
The directors of the Foundation are local men and women who are knowledgeable about the Fayette County area and the needs of its communities. They seek to identify problems and needs not otherwise being adequately addressed and make these known to potential donors. They serve the donors, the charitable organizations, and the community as a whole in their capacity as Director.
